Missionary Prayer Cards

I love design and I love the fact that I get to use this passion in a couple different facets of my job as a Career Missionary with Cru. Prayer letters, prayer cards, outreach materials, etc. YUM. It’s slightly therapeutic for me to mix and match patterns, colors, overlays, new fonts (Thanks Maggie) and see what works and what doesn’t!

Here’s what I’ve been playing around with for my prayer cards. I haven’t decided if I’m going to put magnets on the back so that people can put these on their fridge or not, but… I probably will. I want to create something for people to put in their Bibles as well to remember to be praying for our ministry. But right now, I got the hook up with a friend who is printing these for me at cost, so I don’t want to do too much. You know. I’ll only be able to afford so many Starbucks gift cards for payment.

I’m still tweaking these of course. And, yes I’ll have my real phone number in these. I’d rather the interwebs didn’t have access to that. 😉 Sorry guys.

And I got to play around a little after realizing I didn’t need to create a back to these if there was going to be a magnet for a back. 😉

A New Blog, A New Journey

Hello dear friends!

So, I’m starting this new blog. I am going to try to update it every day. It’s going to be a hobby of mine! (We’ll see how long that lasts!). My last blog has come to an end and I need to pick up somewhere else again. So, what’s going on in my life?

Today: Church was awesome this morning. A lady came and gave her testimony, which was amazing. She was there on behalf of Mercy Ministries. I really admire that ministry. If I ever go to seminary to get my masters in counseling, that is a ministry I would love to serve in. After church, I went to a Tenth Avenue North concert today at Lake Winnie. It was pretty much amazing. You should check out their music here. It’s good.

My last fall semester as an undergrad starts next Monday. I have no clue what God is calling me to do and I have only 9 months to figure something out! Although I am 22 and feel mature, graduating college is really a kick in the rear. It says, “You are an adult.” But the real question is, “What if I don’t want to be?” It’s scary to be an adult. In fact, I don’t know how most people do it! I’m sure once I’m out of college and earning money I’ll like it. I just think the change part is going to be a growing experience for sure!

I’ve been considering going to Africa for a year doing mission work with Cru or Compassion after I graduate. I want to serve God by serving others. I want to be His hands and feet. I want to go to the orphans, widows, women in distress, and others who need are needing Christ and share Him with them. I’m looking into different ministries that do this, so if you know of any let me know! 🙂

I need to go do my devotional. Just in case you were wondering what it was, it’s called Walk With God by Christ Tiegreen. If you are looking for a great devotional, check this one out! He’s really good.

Here’s a picture my friend Aimee painted and gave to me!
