ABOUT

Hey y’all, I’m Mary Louise [friends call me Wheezey]. I’m a girl who is a little like Moses. I’m a southerner by birth (and the grace of God) who moved to Chicago, back down to Tennessee, over to Africa, back over again to Tennessee to finally settle down (only a little) in Detroit. Don’t worry if you didn’t keep up with all of that; I don’t either most days.

If you look real far back, you’ll see this blog began my senior year of college amidst the great unknowns of life transition. This blog has seen me through graduating college, the joys and sorrows of overseas ministry, heartbreak, the most awkward moments in the universe, and learning more about the Hope and Joy of the nations. We’ve gone through a lot of life together, friends.

Sweet Tea Simplicity is a modge-podge, lifestyle blog that I am hoping will document life’s funny stories that happen whether you feel like you are a fish out of water or a little like Moses and don’t quite fit any mold. Life gets so nuts sometimes hence the need for a little Sweet Tea Simplicity.

Thanks for sticking around and hearing about life’s crazy stories and the Creator of it all.

  2. Hi Mary, Pastor Eric here and wanted to encourage you in all that the Lord would have you do for Him. Just continue to Love the dear people of Senegal with the Love and Grace of Jesus our Lord! Step out in faith everyday, seeking and expecting God to use you each moment He has you there! I pray that you will dive deeper into your alone time with Jesus early in the morning and discover that it’s from there that the ministry flows.
We Calvary Chapel Dickson TN., will continue to pray for you!
    Blessings in Jesus,
    Pastor E.

    1. Thanks Pastor Eric. I appreciate you, your church family, and your family more than you know! Aimee is always such a blessing and encouragement to me. I am thankful that even though we’re 4,000 miles apart I can still Skype call her and both just cry together. Ha, such a good friend! Thank you for your words of encouragement and your continual directing people to the cross. Praying for you all as well!
